Police still seeking missing Paauilo woman

Hawaii Island police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in finding 60-year-old Haunani Trask Gibson of Paauilo.

Gibson has not been seen or heard from since early November, when a family member went to check on her at Kalopa-area home. Her family and friends are deeply concerned for her welfare.

Gibson is described as 5-feet-2 inches tall, 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Gibson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police nonemergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.

Kona drowning victim ID’d

Police are investigating a possible drowning involving a 66-year old visitor from Utah that occurred Nov. 22 near the Kailua Pier in Kailua-Kona.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on that day, officers were assigned to a coroner’s inquest at Kona Community Hospital. They were informed that the victim, Michael Green of South Sandy, Utah, had been involved in a diving incident earlier that day.

It was learned that Green was participating in a guided diving tour offshore of the Kailua Pier when he became unresponsive around 11 a.m. He was taken ashore, and Hawaii Fire Department medics initiated CPR on Green, who was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m. at Kona Community Hospital.

An autopsy was performed, and foul play is not suspected at this time.

Ocean View woman sought for warrants, questioning

Police are renewing their request for assistance in finding 33-year-old Justina Alves of Ocean View, who is wanted on outstanding bench warrants and for questioning in four other criminal investigations.

She is known to frequent the South Kona and Ocean View areas.

Alves is described as 5-feet-8 inches tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her left neck area that reads “Ronald.”

Police seek whereabouts of missing teen

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in finding 17-year-old Kaila Harris of Keaau, who was reported as a runaway. She was last seen at 8 a.m. Dec. 15 in Hilo.

Harris is described as 5-feet-3 inches tall, 120 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and nose piercing.
